Hi, I’m Ellen.
I’ve loved to draw since I could hold a crayon. I studied art in Tokyo where I realized illustration was the only job where I could quietly obsess over tree bark and call it “research.”
I’m inspired by classic book illustrations, weird little creatures, and the kind of nature you find when you get a little lost. Mostly, I just want my art to make people smile—or at least say “huh.”
I do art for my book series Ellen in Puzantium where I explore how being weird and fumbly is sometimes exactly what’s needed to save the world.
